Melanesian Discovery: 9 nights in July 2014

This cruise amongst the islands of Melanesia from Brisbane is full of port stops in beautiful, tropical destinations. With 4 days in port and 4 days at sea, it is a perfect mix of relaxation and acitvity!

The first port visited is Lifou, which is one of the Loyalty Islands off the coast of New Caledonia. This gorgeous island is best known for its snorkelling and diving opportunities due to spectacular and diverse landscapes both above and below the water.

The ship then moves to the nation of Vanuatu, to call in to the capital, Port Vila. The town overlooks a busy harbour which is home to many local fishing boats. The second port in Vanuatu is the tiny and uninhabited Mystery Island, a true South Seas paradise. There is nothing to do here but chill on the beach and be entertained by locals who come over from nearby islands.

The final port of call is the Isle of Pines, back in New Caledonia. The island's Kato Bay is a white-sand beauty where the ocean meets the sand meets the pine trees! Spend a while on the beach before the trip back to Brisbane.

About the Pacific Dawn

The Pacific Dawn is based out of Brisbane, running itineraries to the South Pacific and Papua New Guinea in 2014. A pretty ship designed by Renzo Piano, a stint in the dry dock in 20120 has left her refreshed and in line with fleetmates the Pearl and the Jewel. Dining takes place in the Waterfront Restaurant, at the buffet or casually by the pool, and the Salt Grill is the specialty option, with a menu designed by celebrity chef Luke Mangan. During the day, passengers can enjoy the spa, gym, pool, duty free shops, sun loungers and the wide range of organised activities, from cooking lessons to dance classes and bingo. Evening fun includes a number of bars and lounges where there is often live music, the Show Lounge with Broadway-style productions, the big outdoor LED screens with movies and sports matches, and the Dome nightclub after 10:30pm.
